Unlocking the iPhone
I just picked up my iPhone last week when they had announced the $200 price cut. My contract with T-Mobile was over so I figured, hey why not move over to AT&T. Even with companies like iPhoneSimFree who are now selling the unlock software I’m glad I switched over. So far my reception has been a lot better with AT&T and I’ve been having less dropped calls.
I think Apple was smart in dropping the price of the iPhone, especially right around the time when the unlock was suppose to go on the market. Being limited to AT&T I’m sure has been a concern for some who do not want to get hit with the huge penalties for killing their contracts early. Now that the price of the iPhone has dropped by $200 and there’s news of them being unlocked I’m sure there are many people out there now looking to purchase an iPhone to get unlocked. I’m sure Apple is aware of this have no plans for blocking the unlock in future upgrades.
The iPhone unlock is being sold for $99. Here are some places online where you can find them.
AUSTRALIA:
iPhoneWorldwideUnlock
GERMANY:
1digitalphone
SAUDI ARABIA:
iPhone4arab.com
USA:
Wireless Imports
iPhoneSimFree is also selling them wholesale for resellers starting at a minimum of 50 licenses.
